


Ballantine’s, the world’s number two Scotch whisky, is title sponsor of the Ballantine’s Championship, representing Pernod Ricard’s largest-ever global sponsorship. Synergy has worked with the brand and communications teams on the sponsorship and PR strategy, both development and delivery, to help establish Ballantine’s as a credible global golf sponsor.
The Ballantine’s Championship is Asia’s fourth largest golf tournament and the biggest sporting event in Korea. Synergy supported the project team in Korea in March 2008 and April 2009, helping to manage the international PR campaign and coordinating the Ballantine’s global press office on-site at the tournament. The PR programme included inviting and hosting a selection of international media, working alongside the European and Asian Tours, the creation of Ballantine’s-led media stories and the co-ordination of all-star player appearances.
In 2009, as well as PR consultancy and activation, Synergy’s brief was extended to guest and event management which included the co-ordination of all international guests and assisting the production of five gala dinners for 800 guests.
