In April 2012 Synergy created and delivered the Sky Sports Scholarships Week. During the week the Sky Sports Scholars put their mentors, Sky Sports News presenters, through their paces in multiple sporting challenges to promote the Sky Sports Scholarships programme.

The objective was to raise awareness and engage customers, staff and the general public in the Sky Sports Scholarships programme. It was also a perfect opportunity to re-emphasise the athlete and mentor relationship which was established at the launch on the programme in November 2011.

From Vicky Gomersall and Perri Shakes-Drayton on the athletics track to David Garrido and Liam Tancock in the pool, Sky Sports Scholars and Sky Sports News presenters were in action throughout the week which also marked the 100 days to go countdown until the biggest sporting event in British history.

Footage from the challenges was broadcast via Sky Sports News, with behind the scenes footage, exclusive interviews, pictures, videos and updates being made available on the dedicated web site www1.skysports.com/scholarships and promoted via Twitter @SkyScholarships.

Aside from the challenges, a competition was run giving people the chance to win an exclusive training session with, World Championship Silver medallist and World Indoors Gold medallist, Nicola Sanders at the end of the summer. By simply submitting their own best personal sporting achievement, consumers were given the chance to win this amazing prize along with a Sky TV package.

Synergy were involved at all stages from planning to execution; generating ideas for athlete and mentor challenges, managing athlete appearances and coordinating logistics, contractual obligations and content  capturing, as well as assisting with the social media and competition frameworks that drove engagement throughout the week.
