With the greatest annual Rugby competition just one week away, yesterday saw the launch of the RBS 6 Nations 2011 at the Hurlingham Club, London. The date is a highlight in the calendar for both the Synergy Experiential and Communications teams with a strong Synergy squad in attendance every year.
Yesterday’s launch saw the coaches and captains of each of the six nations greeted by an ever enthusiastic media turnout including outlets from across Europe. Amongst the media were a high number of photographers who were treated to an extended outdoor shoot that resulted in some very strong coverage across this morning’s press, including a fantastic spread in this morning’s Daily Telegraph.
Video content was also put together and syndicated across the world with requests from far and wide. Meanwhile, the union representatives were taken through their paces and circulated amongst the masses, an early test of stamina for each of the nations. You’ll be pleased to know that no one showed any sign of lagging as you’ll see in the video below.
The 2011 launch set its own records yesterday as the first time every manager had also attended the previous launch, with Johnson, Gatland, Lievremont, Kidney, Mallett and Robinson all in charge this time last year. Another Synergy client also made their debut with GUINNESS® being served in the afternoon for the press to enjoy with their lunch. GUINNESS were recently announced as the Official Beer of the RBS 6 Nations.

So, another RBS 6 Nations Launch is behind us, here’s a quick run through the stats:
- 1 RBS 6 Nations Trophy
- 4 Hours of Media Activity
- 6 Captains, 6 Coaches
- 7 TV Crews
- 12 Synergy Staff
- 25 photographers
- 183 Media Representatives
- 250 Total Attendance
- 300 Copies of the Media Guide
We now look forward to what should be a very close Championship and we will keep you posted on all our activity throughout. All that’s left to say is Good Luck to our six nations or should we say Buona Fortuna or even Bonne Chance!
